MFT Sketch 447 - Grrreetings

Grrreetings, and thanks for stopping by to take a closer look at my card for this week's MFT Sketch Challenge.  I just posted a different card entry for two CAS challenges.  This card certainly isn't CAS, but hopefully the Cards for Little Hearts card drive recipient will like it.

I kept construction of the card simple by using patterned paper for the sky, lots of die cuts, and simple Copic coloring on the cute little monsters.  All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Now I'm off to make two more cards using this same sketch for the Cards for Little Hearts Winter card drive.

Have a grrreat day!

AAA Cards CAS Game #145 - One Image & Less Is More Challenge #400 - Small Images

The current AAA Cards CAS Game #145 is One Image with an optional twist - Positivity.  CAS cards are super challenging for me, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.   All of the recent tips on the AAA Cards blog and Facebook page, and especially the video made by Maaike, have been really helpful.  Here is a link to the current AAA Cards game page.

I used a small image on my card and as suggested by Jane, I entered it in the current Less is More challenge, #400 - Small Images, as well.  It's my first time joining in on a Less is More challenge.  You can find all the details for that challenge here.

My one image positivity card is for my adult niece who has chronic health issues.  Despite multiple (29) surgeries, she maintains a positive attitude and is an advocate for hydrocephalus awareness.   She is a constant source of support for people across many nations going through the same struggles, and especially for the parents of children facing this serious and life-changing condition that she developed at age 16.

One piece of colored card stock, one pad of ink, and stamps from one set by The Ton.  Sounds simple, but it took some time, and restraint to let it be!  The supplies are listed below.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my card.  I hope you have a great day!

Supplies:
MFT Grout Gray card stock
Versafine Onyx Black ink

AAA Birthday Game 3 - For the Girls

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by.

Today I have a card for the current AAA Birthday Game - For the Girls.  I made a birthday card for one of my sister-in-laws.  I make lots of kid's cards to donate on a regular basis, so it was nice to get a floral stamp out again.

The Happiest of Peonies stamp by The Ton was colored with new to me violet Copic markers.  I found using those colors challenging, but it was a good change from the reds that I've been using to make Christmas cards this month.

All of the supplies are listed below.  Have a great day!

Nennah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb card stock
The Ton Happiest of Peonies stamp
The Ton Double Stitched Squares die

MFT Sketch 446 - You're Amazing

For this week's MFT Sketch Challenge, I have another card to donate to Cards for Little Hearts.  Christina is asking for "happy mail" non-occasion encouragement type cards for pediatric cardiac patients.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Thanks for stopping by, and have an amazing day!

MFT Color Challenge 121 - You are My Idol

The current MFT Color Challenge of Pineapple, Orange Zest, Poppy and Blue Raspberry is a bright and fresh combination of colors that are perfect for a summer card.

The background for my card was inspired by a card I saw on Instagram on July 15, 2019 posted by kajcyika.crafts.  I really liked the way Kaja used a ray stencil horizontally on half on the card.  Not wanting to replicate her design exactly, I positioned my MFT Radiating Rays stencil in a similar way, but on both sides.  I used MFT Blue Raspberry hybrid ink and a blending brush.

The cute little MFT Perfect Harmony girl was stamped, colored with Copic markers, die cut and popped up with foam tape.  I used the MFT color reference chart to match the Copic markers to the challenge colors.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Supplies:
PI Perfect Harmony stamps and die
Radiating Rays stencil
A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 dies
Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame die
Circle Shaker Window & Frame - star die
Blue Raspberry Hybrid ink
Daffodil card stock
Poppy card stock

AAA CAS Game 144 - Maxi White Space

Hello, and thanks for stopping by.

Today I have a card for the current AAA Cards CAS Game - Maxi White Space with an optional twist of Christmas in July.  This is a perfect challenge for me as I'm working on holiday cards to donate later this year.

I kept my card super simple with two strings of lights and a sentiment from the Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright set designed by Julie Ebersole.

The strings and bulbs were stamped with Altenew Evergreen dye ink and colored with Copic markers.  The white bulb is colored with clear Wink of Stella for a tiny bit of shimmer.  I used a small paint brush to cover each bulb with Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Lady Bug dye ink.

I hope your day shines bright!

The shine on the bulbs is hard to see, so here's a close-up.

Supplies:
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock
Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright stamp set
Altenew Crisp Ink - Evergreen
Memento Dye Ink - Lady Bug
Copic markers: B24, B29, G05, G19, R17 & R29
Wink of Stella - clear
Glossy Accents
Paper Source Pure White card A2 folding card base

MFT Sketch 445 - You are Mermazing

For this week's MFT Sketch Challenge, I made a general "happy mail" card featuring the MFT Mermazing set for the Cards for Little Hearts drive .

First I stamped and heat embossed two A2 panels with the MFT Whimsical Waves Background stamp and Wow white embossing powder.  I used Distress Ink and a blending brush to add color to one of the embossed panels and then die cut three circles out of it.  The circles were arranged on the white embossed panel to reflect the sketch.

The Mermazing images were colored with Copic markers and then attached to the circles.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a strip of blue vellum.

Thanks very much for stopping by, and I hope you are having a mermazing day!

AAA CAS Game 143 - One Corner - Flowers

Today I have a card for the current AAA CAS Game, One Corner with an optional twist flowers.

During the month of June, most of the various challenge cards I made were donated to Send a Smile 4 Kids.  This month, I'm making cards for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts drive.  She's asking for non-occasion "happy mail" cards.

I thought the cute little Peony Baby in a Pot stamp by Stampingbella would be perfect for this challenge and a card to donate as well.  I colored the image with Copic markers and used a MFT brick stencil and Distress Oxide ink for a bit of background color.  All of the supplies are listed below.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card, and have a great day.

MFT Color Challenge 120 - You're Amazing

The colors for this week's MFT Color Challenge are Grout Gray, Grape Jelly, Coral Crush and Electric Red.

First I used the large Slanted Sentiment Strip die to cut purple and and red strips.  Those were mounted on a piece of scrap paper and then die cut with the large Double Stitched Square die.  The Happy Birthday Circle was die cut twice, once in white and again in orange.  I stacked and adhered them slightly offset for a little highlight.

The rest of the card came together quickly, and I think it's a fun birthday card for the recipient, a hospitalized child in the Send a Smile 4 Kids program.  I made two more maze cards, similar design but different colors, to donate as well.
