MFT Color Challenge 136 - Hello There

I'm back with a card for the current MFT Color Challenge featuring Primitive Cream, Peach Bellini, Kraft and Jellybean Green.

I've had the idea to make a basket weave background for quite some time and finally gave it a go for this card.  I really like the way it turned out.  A little monkey from the long ago retired Cheeky Monkey set just lightly colored and shaded with Prismacolor pencils and a couple leaves, and my card was done.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

MFT Sketch 477 - Shine Bright

Hello.  I'm back with a card for the current MFT Sketch Challenge.  Once again I made a card to donate later this fall to Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts winter theme card drive.  You can read all about Christina's year-round card drives that benefit pediatric and young adult congenital heart patients here.

I decided to use the cute Festive Flamingos set.  They are quick and easy to color with Copic markers, so I colored three extra ones and made cards for those too, each one a bit different.

The sketch is adjusted a bit so that the two stripes are vertical rather than horizontal, hopefully it isn't too much of a sketch stretch!  Although it's hard to see in the photo, the light bulbs are coated with Star Dust Stickles and the sentiment is heat embossed for that nice sheen.  All of the MFT supplies are listed below.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day.

MFT Sketch 476 - Warmest Wishes

Today I have a card for the current MFT Sketch Challenge.  I'm working on cards for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts 2020 winter and holiday theme card drive.  Christina will be collecting the winter theme cards later this fall.  You can read more about Christina's card drives here.

I used the MFT Scenic Snow Globe die set to create a winter card following the sketch with just a couple of slight variations.  I liked the crisp MFT Limelight, black and white color pallet so much that I made a second card to donate.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

MFT Color Challenge 135 - Let it Snow!

Hi, and thanks for stopping by to take a closer look at my card.

Today I have a card for the current MFT Color Challenge.  I've decided to use the MFT challenges to get a jump on cards for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts 2020 winter and holiday theme card drive.  Christina will be collecting the winter theme cards later this fall.  You can read more about Christina's card drives here.

The colors for the challenge, Razzle Berry, Coral Crush, Lemon Chiffon and Limelight, remind me of rainbow sherbet, perfect for a chilly winter scene.  I used Distress Oxide inks to give just a hint of the four colors under the Snowfall die cut background, and dies from the Scenic Snow Globe set for the focal points.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Have a great day!

MFT Sketch 475 - Dashing By

Hello, and thanks for stopping by.

Today I have a card for the current MFT Sketch challenge.  I made another card for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts 2020 winter and holiday theme card drive.  You can read more about Christina's card drives here.

When I saw the angled strip on the bottom of the sketch, I knew right away that the cute Dashing By girl on her sled would be the perfect focal point.  The image is colored with Copic markers and the slope is coated with clear Wink of Stella for a bit of snowy shimmer.  The background piece was scored in a grid configuration.  The score lines don't show up well in my photo, but I like the subtle interest that they add.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  Have a great day.

MFT Color Challenge 134 - Birthday Wishes

The combination of colors for the current MFT Color Challenge, Summer Splash, Tropical Teal, Gravel Gray and Steel Gray, are so pretty.  I made three cards using those colors this week.

This card features the MFT Fresh Cut Flowers stamp.  I used Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Wow! Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder.  The image is colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I hadn't used them for quite some time, but I enjoying doing so today.

I finished the coloring, and then decided it was too plain.  So I reluctantly added some splatters, and instantly wished I hadn't.  I had a big blob of color on the upper left side.  I tried to blot it off, but it still looked messy, so I added some Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine embellishments to conceal it.  I'm not thrilled with the placement of them, but decided to just go with it.   The finished card is an A6 size, 4 1/2" x 6 1/4".

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a closer look at my card, and have a great day.
