MFT Color Challenge 98 - Hello, Bootiful

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

Today I have two more Halloween cards ready to donate to Send a Smile 4 Kids.  The current MFT color challenge presented a perfect combination for some softer, more feminine colored Halloween cards using Lavender Fields, Wild Wisteria, Peach Bellini and Coral Crush.

I used a cute little Copic colored witch from the MFT Fab-Boo-lous Friends set along with several dies, all listed below.  The maze game cards are great for the older kids who unfortunately are spending Halloween as a patient in one of the many children's hospitals scattered around the country that SAS4Kids supports.

Have a bootiful day, and should you care to leave a comment, I'd be delighted!

MFT Sketch 395 - Congrats

My daughter recently made a few background pieces for me after I sent a copy of the Splitcoaststampers  Nail Polish Marbling Tutorial to her.  You can see that tutorial here.  Although my daughter is not a crafter, she was happy to play with her huge assortment of nail polish colors and create several pieces for me.

I had an engagement card on my list of cards to make, and this week's MFT sketch and one of the background pieces were a perfect match.

The 'congrats' is four layers thick with each layer slightly offset for added dimension.  I used MFT Summer Splash, gold glitter card stock from my stash, and two layers of white card stock.  The leaves are die cut from MFT Sno Cone card stock and  vellum.   The banner piece is light blue vellum, also from my stash.  I placed the leaves at an angle rather than the sentiment strip per the sketch.  The gold on the background piece has a soft shimmer to it that doesn't show up in the picture.

I love the way it turned out.  I think it's pretty but not too frilly, and that's always my goal when making engagement, wedding and anniversary cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

MFT Sketch 394 - Ghostly Greetings

After getting a start on Christmas cards last week, I thought I'd step back and make a few Fall and Halloween cards to donate to Send A Smiles 4 Kids.

The cute Fab-BOO-lous Friends set by MFT is perfect for this week's sketch challenge.  The images are super quick and easy to color with Copic markers, and they are just the right size for the four square format of the sketch.

I made four slightly different cards with the set.  I will send them, along with several more Fall theme cards yet to be made, to a SAS4Kids volunteer in Pennsylvania.  She will then forward them to four children's hospitals in the northeast.  It's a great program that I enjoy supporting throughout the year.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a fab-boo-lous day!

AAA Cards CAS Game #119 - Christmas in July

Hi, and thanks for stopping by to take a closer look at my entry for AAA Cards CAS Game #119 - Christmas in July.

This challenge fits perfectly into my card making plans as I started making Christmas cards this month.  I hope to make about 100 cards between now and the end of November to donate to Cards for Little Hearts and Send A Smile 4 Kids.

On to my card.  I used the cute Pamela the Poinsettia stamp by Stampingbella and kept it super CAS by just letting the image shine on it's own along with a MFT Snow Globe Sentiments stamp.   I used Copic markers to color Pamela on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock.

I wish you the merriest of days!

MFT Color Challenge 97 and The Birthday Project - Bears

For the current color and birthday project challenges, I made two bear birthday cards.  The color challenge incorporating Peach Bellini, Coral Crush, Lemon Chiffon and In the Buff is again a combination I wouldn't think of using, but I like the results very much.

I have all the colors of card stock except In the Buff on hand, but I used MFT ink and the complimentary Copic markers instead for both cards.  The "Copic Color Markers" chart in the Resources section of the MFT blog is really helpful for that.

Peach Bellini and In the Buff inks were sponged on white card stock using the MFT Drifts and Hills stencil for the background pieces.  The bears, hats and balloons were colored with Copic markers.  I used Simply White Nuvo Crystal Drops to add tiny dots to the party hats.

Of the two cards, my favorite is the first one below.  Maybe that's because I used the new to me LJD Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Window die for the first time.

I be delighted to know which of the two cards you like the best if you'd care to leave a comment below.

MFT Sketch 393 - Merriest Wishes

For this week's MFT Sketch challenge, I made my first Christmas card this year.  In fact, I used this sketch to make three slightly different Christmas cards.  Every year I donate about 100 holiday cards to three card drives, so I've set a goal to make a few each week from here on out.

For the  background I used the MFT brick wall stencil and Distress Oxide ink.  Some Copic coloring using non-traditional Christmas colors on the MFT Santa's Elves pieces and a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments set, all popped up on foam tape, and that's it.  Quick and easy, and cute too.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
