Another Essentials by Ellen October 2017 Pin Sights Challenge Card

I actually made three cards inspired by this month's EH Pin Sights challenge inspiration board, something I've never done before.

I've always admired cards with one tiny image and lots of white space, so I decided to make one for this challenge.  I was definitely out of my comfort zone and had to resist adding to the card as I thought it was just too plain.  But it has grown on me, so I decided to add it here and to the challenge link-up.

Again, I was inspired by the picture of the pink Christmas tree on the inspiration board.  It reminds me of a little pink tree my Mom used to put on our bathroom counter every holiday season.  It first appeared in the early 1960's, and I think in the late 1970's my mom took a chisel to that pink tile one day and soon after had it replaced.  She always had a remodel project going on in our family home.

MFT Stamps Color Challenge #80 - Hope Your Day Rocks

I made a birthday card for my stash for MFT Color Challenge #80. Playing with Spring-like colors, pink, blue, green and yellow, was a nice diversion from all the traditional Christmas cards I've been making for the past several weeks.

I hope your day rocks too!  Thanks for taking a look.

Essentials by Ellen October 2017 Pin Sights Challenge

The pink Christmas tree on this month's EH Pin Sights Inspiration Board immediately caught my eye.  My Mom had a little pink 12" tall artificial Christmas tree that she'd put on our pink and gray tile bathroom counter every Christmas season.  Pink bathroom tile was very popular in the 1960's.

I kept my card very CAS using the Geo Tree dies by Julie Ebersole.  To make the teal ornaments, I used an extra-small hole punch and covered each paper dot with a tall dollop of Glossy Accents so they look like little ornaments.  The top panel and the tree are popped-up with foam tape for dimension.

MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge 356 - Ho Ho Ho

I made another Christmas card for this week's MFT Sketch Challenge.

I used the H from the HUGS die, and the O from the LOVE die to make HO HO HO.  Both dies were free gifts with a $60 or more MFT purchase, so thank you MFT Stamps for those!

The little stack of gifts is from the Santa's Elves set and the sentiment stamp is from the Toasty Greetings set.  A quick and simple card ready to donate to Send A Smile 4 Kids!

Essentials by Ellen October 2017 Mix It Up Challenge with Altenew

Christmas in New York City is so beautiful with the tree in Rockefeller Center, festive store window displays and lots of lights all around the city.  I used the skyline of Manhattan stamp from Altenew's Sketchy Cities America set and the Christmas lights and sentiment stamp from the Essentials by Ellen Merry & Bright set to make another Christmas card to donate.

I kept it quick and simple by using black card stock, gold embossing powder and some gold star sequins.  I colored the lights with Copics, fussy cut them to eliminate a white boarder, and applied two coats of Glossy Accents make them shine.

I used tiny bits of black fun foam to pop-up the lights.

Supplies used:
EBE Merry & Bright stamps
Altenew Sketchy Cities America stamp
Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder
Copic Markers G06, G19, R29 and R59
Glossy Accents
Celebrations sequins

MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge 352 - Merry Elf

Another MFT Sketch Challenge and another Christmas card to donate to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I think these little elves are so cute!

I stacked three layers of the die cut elf for some dimension and embellished the elf with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.   I always make some super simple cards to donate SAS4K so they can be given to very young children in the hospitals SAS4K's supports without concern of small removable pieces and choking hazards.
