Note Card Set

Note card sets made with the specific recipient in mind are among my favorite card making projects.  I hadn't made one for quite some time when a friend asked me to replenish her supply that I made for her a couple of years ago.

She told me to make whatever I wanted, she didn't have any special requests.  This couple is very active in their retirement community and attend lots of dinner parties, so I wanted to something with a dining theme and one more generic.

I used mostly Paper Source products for the two 4-bar size sets.  I have just a small amount of Paper Source Cement card stock left.  It's always been my favorite color for note card sets, but unfortunately it has been discontinued.  The fine handmade papers at Paper Source are beautiful for lining the envelopes, and I had just enough left of one that looks nice with the Cement card stock for this project.

Two Paper Source block stamps, a fork and thank you, were used for the dining notes.  I love how those turned out.  I made a similar set (slightly different color pallet) for my sister-in-law as that design suits her perfectly.

The feather stamp is from Papertrey Inks Feather Finery set.  I made score lines on the top and bottom of the Cement card stock for a bit of added detail.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my note card project.  Long live snail mail, especially for thank you notes, as who doesn't appreciate receiving a note of thanks in the mail?

MFT Sketch 489 & Color 141 Challenges - Dashing By

Hello, and thanks for stopping by to take a closer look at my card for the current sketch and color challenges at MFT Stamps.

I've made another card for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts winter theme card drive.  Christina will be collecting the winter and holiday cards later this fall.  You can read about Christina's card drive here.

I used the Dashing By stamp, colored with Copic markers, for the focal point.  The bunny and bird are from the Dashing Deer set.  Dots were added to the scarf, hat and mittens with a white gel pen.

This was an easy sketch to work with, and making my card was quickly done.  All of the MFT supplies are listed below.

Have a great day!

MFT Sketch Challenge 488 - You Are A-maze-ing

I'm back with more cards for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts winter theme card drive.  I've   been wanting to make some winter/holiday theme maze cards for the hospitalized kids, and this week's MFT Sketch Challenge is a good layout for them.

I made three cards inspired by the sketch, but each layout a bit different.  I used unconventional colors for the little jumping Santa because who says Santa always has to be red? :-)  I typed the sentiment on my computer since the one included in the MFT You're Amazing stamp set has a font larger than I wanted for these cards.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.

Thanks for stopping by, and have an amazing day!

Jingle All The Way stamp and die
English Brick Wall stencil
Circle Shaker Window die

MFT Sketch Challenge 487 - Season's Greetings

Hello,  I'm back with another card for Christina Hor's Cards for Little Hearts winter theme card drive.  This is the 25th winter theme card I've made for Christina since the end of January.  Christina will be asking for the cards later this fall, and in the meantime I'll keep making more.  So far I've used the MFT Sketch or Color Challenges as my jumping point for all of them.  You can read all about Christina's card drive here.

I love the Dashing Deer stamp set.  The little images are so sweet and are easy to color with Copic markers.  I used triangles instead of circles on my card.  I realized after I was done that the bottom circle is flush and partially cut-off at the bottom of the card base on the sketch, but my triangles are not.

All of the MFT supplies are listed below.  I always do my best to use the challenge sponsor's products, and again did here with the exception of the white card stock.  I used Neenah Solar White as I like how bright it is.

Thanks for stopping by, and take a moment today to let someone in your life know that they are deerly loved!
